Firn snow
The days are getting warmer whilst at night, it is still cold, these temperature changes producing a special type of snow, called firn. The snow that melts during the warm and sunny days freezes during the night which leaves a crispy layer on the snow. This partially-compacted névé is very popular with many ski and snowboarding enthusiasts.
