In 2003, our Mâitre d’ Erwin Schurtl is awarded the prize of „Head Waiter of the Year“ by the renowned Gourmet Magazine Falstaff. The Austrian branch of Gault Millau awarded our kitchen 2 toques and 15 points on their scale, emphasizing the exclusive wine cellar and „attractive pricing“. But those are all just snapshots. Nice to have, but by no means will they make us sit back and content ourselves with past glory.
…and time to be humble
Clearly, we’re glad about lavish praise. Because it gives assurance of having done a few things right in the eyes of our guests. Because we know, that our best days are yet to come and because we are willing to learn, we are excited today about tomorrows challenges, whatever they may be. Because it gives us the opportunity to prove, what we mean when we use the simple word „hospitality“ that has been practised throughout the hotel's history.
Speaking of positive feedback and awards: „I luagdruf“ (a prize awarded by the regional government for supporting the local agricultural sector – don’t worry, even German speaking guests won’t be able to translate this one) is among them. Wine has also been of special interest for us, resulting in the fact that we are among the founding members of Austrias „1. Club of Sommeliers“ and our kitchen proudly carries Gault Millaus prestigious „toques“ as a sign for excellence.
Also, we’re proud to carry the „4**** Superior“ label, indicating „the extra mile“ in our services. And above all, we’re honored to be among „Austrias Favourite Vacation Spots“.
