Winter holidays at the Goldener Berg Hotel
Ski holidays on the piste
Before the winter season, it’s getting quiet in one of Austria’s most beautiful holiday regions. This time is perfect for a relaxing and peaceful holiday full of nature, spa and exquisite cuisine. In December, Lech am Arlberg starts into the skiing season.
Skiing on the Arlberg
A skiing holiday of superlatives: you will stay right on the piste, where no cars have access to and you won’t hear anything apart from the skiers. You will enjoy a stunning panorama and at 1,700 m above sea level you will spend a holiday in the biggest skiing resort in Austria. On-piste or off-piste with a guide, or during heliskiing, which in Austria is only possible on the Arlberg – enjoy the deep powder snow and perfectly groomed pistes. You won’t find more snow, more winter and more fun in the Alps than on the Arlberg.
Christmas in Oberlech
Experience a time of peace with your family far away from the everyday life’s stress in the spacious rooms and suites. During the day you dash down the Arlberg pistes, while the team at the Goldener Berg Hotel prepares everything for the traditional Lech Christmas party. The Lech brass will perform original Arlberg tunes on the terrace, where you can also enjoy punch and mulled wine. The musicians’ performance is the kick-off for a wonderful Christmas Eve within the family circle. The Christmas dinner will be prepared by our awarded chef and is an indulgence for your eyes and palate.
New Year’s Eve
After the Christmas holidays you are perfectly prepared to get started for the time until New Year’s Eve. The New Year’s Eve pre-party on the sun terrace at the Goldener Berg Hotel is a good teaser of how the big party is going to be on the 31st December. The gala evening with show band will herald the start of the new year. You will dance into the New Year with a Viennese waltz, while big fireworks light the sky and the mountains are brightly lit.
The highlight in every skiing season on the Arlberg is the time when a very special snow cover is created. The sun, which is stronger now that spring is approaching, lets the snow cover melt, while the cool winter nights lets the cover freeze again. Early in the morning when you step out of the door at the four-star superior hotel and on to the ski run the following phenomena awaits you:
- a stable snow cover
- a gripped piste
- the perfect surface for long carving dashes
The marvellous firn snow days belong to your spring holiday as well as cool drinks on the sun terrace at the Goldener Berg Hotel.
Easter in Lech on the Arlberg
Have you ever been looking for Easter eggs in the snow? Well, try it! At the Goldener Berg Hotel at 1,700m above sea level the snow blanket still covers the landscapes in March and you can enjoy spring skiing. You are literally in the middle of the skiing fun as the hotel in Oberlech is located right on the piste.
When you return to your hotel after a perfect firn skiing day, the hotel will already be very excited. It’s the time the Easter bunny has to hide all the self-coloured Easter eggs and nests. The culinary delicacies prepared by our gourmet cuisine will round off the perfect Easter skiing trip.
Outside it’s cold, inside warm and lovely – spa
When the first fog or the snow snuggle up to the windows at the Alpin Spa the atmosphere inside is getting even cosier: It’s the time of saunas, clarifying steam baths and purest recreation in the warm water. Have you ever been sitting in a heated Jacuzzi outdoors while the snow is falling? Well, now you will.
